1. A situation that results when a ticketed passenger arrives at the airport early and attempts to standby for an earlier flight than the one for which she is scheduled; if no seats are available on earlier flights, the passenger will proceed to take the originally scheduled flight.

2. A ticketed passenger at the airport who wishes to standby for a flight earlier than the one booked
