From now through May 31, United Airlines MileagePlus is offering up to 85% bonus miles when you buy or gift miles online. The offer allows members to purchase up to the annual maximum of 175,000 miles. Bonus miles count toward the annual limit.

  • Here’s the bonus ranges and amounts:
    • Buy 5,000 – 14,000 miles and earn 25% bonus miles
    • Buy 15,000 – 34,000 miles and earn 50% bonus miles
    • Buy 35,000 – 94,500 miles and earn 85% bonus miles
  • And here are some important details:
    • The offer ends May 31, 2023
    • Purchased and bonus miles don’t count toward elite status
    • MileagePlus accounts less than 10 days old aren’t allowed to purchase or receive miles
    • To gift miles, you’ll need the recipient’s MileagePlus number

How to get your bonus miles

  1. Visit the offer detail page and select either “Buy miles for yourself” or “Buy miles for another member”.
  2. On the following screen, log into your MileagePlus account.
  3. Select the desired number of miles and bonus miles.
  4. Follow the instructions to complete the purchase.
